Sept 4-7, our family, Marcus & Laura, Mom & Lorraine, Marlin & Janice, Klarissa Bauman, Tony Bauman and Ray Hess went camping at Raystown. We had beautiful weather while we were there, it rained monday morning before we got up and then it was just cloudy for the rest of the day. This was our camp sites, Mom, Lorraine and the children slept in the pop-up.
Gene & I, Marcus & Laura slept in our 2 room tent and Marlin's slept in their camper.

Everyone enjoyed swimming the lake, the water felt so good on those hot days. Klarissa, Victoria, Tyler and Kayla enjoying the water.

As you can see not all of us were swimming, I'm in the raft and mom is sitting in the chair.
We took our john boat up too, the children had fun taking rides in it
We had scrapple and eggs for breakfast one morning, we had many helping hands to help cook our food, this is Marcus & Laura.

I made pancakes one morning and we didn't have a whisk, so what better way to make sure everything was mixed up was to mix it with my hands. Don't worry my hands were clean.

The highlight of camping was taking jet ski rides, Gene is taking Ray for a ride.

Marcus brought his water balloon sling shot along. Marcus,Tony and Ray had fun throwing them at the people on the jet ski and to see how far they would go before the balloons hit the water.

One of our friends Jeff Bang brought his boat up and gave us rides, even though it was not very warm.
It was full moon while we were there and it looked beautiful shining over the water.
Monday sept. 7 was a year that our best friend Merle Seibel drowned while we were camping at Raystown last year. We miss him very much but I know he is in a much better place now. ~Later~ |
